Making the fabric with Spoonflower’s program made me think about creating mirror images that could be printed on other materials, i.e. standard photos, metal prints. There is a great tutorial on making them in Photoshop, so I got to work. Finally got to bed about 1:30 am….. (which was a bit of an issue because our Great Dane/White Shepherd mix had decided he was sleeping in my spot). My husband questioned whether or not these new images were true to my claim that all of the designs I show are “in the glass”. Well, the only manipulation I do is to multiply the photographic image, so I’m thinking it’s not much of a stretch. And what I am seeing seems worth the work! Enjoy!

The new throw pillows available through Fine Art America started me thinking about having some of my images printed on fabric once again. This is something I have had in the back of my mind for a long time, and I have played with designs on Spoonflower, but never followed through with an order. Well, time has come! I ordered a few designs in their 8″ swatch format and they arrived today. With arrival of an adapter to try my macro lens on my husband’s new Sony a6000 mirrorless camera I had the perfect photo shoot opportunity. Here are some of the designs (I created a total of 11). They are “mirror repeat” patterns, each made with one of my macro photos. The pictures could be better, but this gives you the general idea. New product concepts are forming…..2015 should be interesting!
Happy New Year! and a belated Merry Christmas!

Not much new has been going on, until now….
I applied to ArtiGras, the winter Green Bay art fair, and already knew my photos would be in based on being in ArtStreet and winning an award, but I also juried for the Glass category. The glass was accepted, so I will be bringing both photos and glass to the event! This will be the first fair where I have shown both the original artwork (glass) and the photos derived from it. Should be interesting. Will be posting updates closer to the dates of March 7-8.

Other big news is that Fine Art America is offering images on throw pillows. I have been wanting to put some of these photos on fabric, and this is a great opportunity to see how they look. The pillows come in many sizes, and both square and rectangular, so hopefully they will work for different settings. I have ordered a couple to see how they look.
